You might want to check with the game manufacturers website, see if there
are any known issues with the X-Fi, Vista, and the game Dirt.

Other than that, try some of the usual troubleshooting. Update your drivers
for the sound card and your video card while you are at it. try running as
administrator, or running in XP mode.

good luck,

1. Creative SB Xfi Xtreme Audio ~ No bass.

Hello !

I just made a new pc, and i had to get a Creative SB Xfi Xtreme Audio card
so i can get sorround on my 5.1 audio system. I am running under Win Vista
Home Premium.

The problem is that when im listening to music or watching movies i have no
bass from the subwoofer. When im playing games it works perfectly.
I got the latest drivers for my sound card but that didn't help. I also
contacted Creative about this problem and they gave some link from their
knowledge base from something i was already reading at the time. It was about
the THX setup console that can fix this thing. The only problem is that that
software prog didn't come with my soundcard nor is it up so that people can
download it.

So my question is : Does anyone have a solution to this minor yet "big"
thing ?

Thanks in advance !

3. OT: SB X-Fi issue...

Just got my new comp set up and the one issue I have is that when I connect
the rear right speaker I get distortion. At first I figured this was a bad
speaker, but I connected an identical set of speakers to the comp and got
the same issue. I tried different speakers on the rear right and still got
the same issue. I also rearranged the speakers and such. Could a bad sound
card cause this? It's a Soundblaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio. I have the latest
drivers.

Thanks for any help.
