I have fonts that show up in my fonts folder and in
Control Panel, Fonts.....but when I launch PowerPoint, the
fonts don't show up in the list of available fonts. Any
ideas?

What type of fonts are they? There are probably various bitmap fonts
installed there, but PPT won't use them, nor will most applications.

I have a problem with fonts. I have my presentation, and
it works great on my PC. When I play it on another PC, the
fonts are changed to another style. I probably would not
have noticed it but the shadow stays the same as the
original font used. Is there a way to keep the fonts I
want? I am using Powerpoint 97. I am also using an auto
run program called GST Power Launch.I did contact Power
Launch and they said I need to "Embed" the fonts but can't
find that option anywhere. Anyone please feel free to
contact me at XXXX@XXXXX.COM
Thank you

Do a File > Save As. (I'm using Ppt 2k...don't know about 97 anymore) In the
Save dialog there might be a Tools menu. Open that menu and the Embed Fonts"
option can be checked.

Note that some TrueType fonts cannot be embedded, due to restrictions made
by the company who made the font. Also, Type 1 fonts cannot be embedded, and
I don't know about OpenType.

I need to change the font of not only the text, but of all
the objects in a large powerpoint presentation that I
have. Is there a way to make the changes to everything at
once? I know I can change all fonts in the Slide master;
however, I do not know how to make th objects inclusive in
that change.

Thanks for the help!

Malea,

On the format menu of powerpoint there is a little known feature called
"replace fonts"

It does just that!

It lists the fonts being used in your presentation
such as Arial

You choose what font you want to use instead
such as TucsonWideBold

Cheers

Replace fonts doesn't work for embedded objects such as charts. You can
try using the option in Tools/Options for "new charts take on PPT font,"
but I don't know that it will help after the fact.

I suspect you'll have to open the objects and change the fonts
individually. Or ungroup them, after which you can change the fonts
using the Replace Fonts command. However, you will lose your data if you
do that.

To ungroup the charts all at once, you can use the RnR Optimizer -- it
gives you options to ungroup embedded objects, so that would take care
of them in one swell foop. http://www.rdpslides.com/pptools/FAQ00013.htm

Is there a way I can get the fonts I use in my
presentation to work on another computer, i.e. if I save
my presentation to cd, and then use a different computer
to show my presentation.

I already tried saving the fonts in the file with the
presentation and music files but this didn't work.

Thanks

The font you're using may not be embeddable, then. See
http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00076.htm for some good info on this
subject.

I didn't mention that I'm using office XP PRO and that I
had already tried to embed the fonts and had no luck.

I went to the page you mentioned and did a search for the
ini file and couldn't find one by that name.

Anymore suggestions?
Thanks

When you say "no luck", what do you mean? Did you receive a message that
the font(s) can't be embedded? If so, it's probably because the font isn't
licensed for distribution. Download and install the Font properties
extension and it will help you determine in advance whether a font can be
embedded. You'll find it at

I work in Office Powerpoint 2003. When cutting and pasting text from box A to
box B the font from Box A which is in font size 10 will autosize to font 24.
How can I turn this facility off.

Reg,
Open PPT and go to Tools--> AutoCorrect--> AutoFormat As You Type tab. You
want to make sure that the last three boxes are unchecked. (Easy to do, hard
to find :) )

I am creating a presentation using 2002 and I tested the presentation on my
daughters computer that also has 2002 but she didn't have the same fonts as
I wanted. What do I need to do to get the fonts I want to appear on any
other computer that run my presentation?

Thanks!

1. Add font to list of bullets/more than one font per line

I would like to have a dingbat font for a bullet (scala hands) and a regular
font for the text (Scala). I don't know if its possible, but I can't get
Powerpoint 2004 to let me have more than one font on one line. If this is
just a hard fact, then I suppose the workaround is to add dingbat font sclaa
hands to the bullet list. However, I'm not sure how to do this. If anyone can
help solve the problem in either way that would be great. Thanks, Cameron

2. Font on chart layout defaults to previous font after closing presentation despite saving

3. Specify font if font used is not available on another PC

If I was using a non system font and was sending the presentation to someone
who I knew didn't have that font, can I, in Script Editor, specify what font
should be used? For example can I specify it to substitute my non system font
for Tahoma instead of default Arial?

5. Fonts and Font Size Box not appearing

I recently installed PPT 2002 SP3 and now when I open a presentation my Text
Box only has 1 font in it and my Text Size Box has only 1 size in it. I
cannot change the text or the size via these boxes. I can change the font and

6. left-panel font size corresponds to title-slide font

7. I cannot see any fonts or font sizes on the formatting toolbar

I don't have an answer for you, but as a possible workaround, try this:

Start PPT
Choose Tools, Customize
Click the Options tab
Remove the checkmark next to "List font names in their font"
Click Close

Restart PPT and try the font list. Any help?
