How can you find the file location/name of an Excel book linked into a
Powerpoint document?

Many thanks

Jose,
Select the Excel object, go to Edit - Links - the path and name will be at
the bottom of the dialogue.

I selected Chart object. Edit - but "Links" is greyed out. Chart object is
edit-able however, just don't know where it is...

Jose,
What happens if you right-click the chart and choose Linked worksheet
object, then edit. That should lead you to the Excel file. In Excel go to
File save as and see where the Excel file is stored?

This will depend on what you have, exactly.

If you have an Excel chart linked into PPT, Luc's method will work.

If you have Excel data linked into an MSGraph Chart object, then as far as I
know, there's no way to retrieve the path to the linked file (other than by
renaming/deleting possible XLS files one by one and trying to get the chart to
update after each; when you get an error, that's your original.
