powerpoint >> Making text boxes with colored bar at the top

by ZGF2aWRkb3JpYQ » Mon, 31 Aug 2009 06:31:01 GMT

I'm trying to use this template to make a poster: (the first one on this page)
http://www.posterpresentations.com/h...templates.html

There are nice blue bars above the text in the thumbnail. However, when I
open the template in power point, there are no text boxes - and when I add a
text box it is just a normal text box and does not have a blue bar on the top.

Is this type of box a power point thing or a function of this template?

Thanks,

Dave

The link doesn't work for me. I'd contact the PosterPresentations people for
assistance.

Ah, sorry - I copied and pasted it wrong.

I don't think it has anything to do with them - I think I just don't know
how to make that kind of text box!

What it looks like to me when I pulled one apart, are white boxes as a
background, with a blue shapes
on top with text boxes and images positioned as needed within the white
background shape.

Michael,

You said "when I pulled one apart". When I open the template (in PP2007), I
just have columns defined, but none of those boxes - hence I didn't even have
a starting place. How did you get one of the boxes that you could then look
at? I could even then just copy and paste it - I don't actually need to
create the boxes from scratch.

David;

I just clicked on one of the samples which opened in 2007 and all of the
items on the page were individual text boxes or shapes.

here's no problem grouping textboxes (NOT placeholders) with a blue shape to
get what (I think) you want
