My powerpoint slide show sound will work on any desktop computer I use but
won't work on the laptops. Have troubleshot all the usual places,
1. Ppt-slideshow sound won't work on laptop but does work on desk
2. Sound Preview Works, Won't work during Show
I have linked an mp3 file and set it to play across all slides. If i click the preview button i hear the file fine. I have also clicked hide the icon during show. However, the icon will not hide during the show and i get no sound run the show runs. I am pulling out my hair on this. I have used this forever on PPT 2003. Now in PPT 2007, it will not work. Yes, the mp3 and ppt are in the same folder and yes the path if very short (10 characters). The mp3 is 16 MB but linked not embedded. I just want to play this on my computer (xp pro) only. Thanks!
3. Slideshow works on desktop but not on laptop!
4. Copying .ppt from desktop to laptop - won't open
When I copy my .ppt or .pptx from my iMac to my MBP, or vice-versa, the program does not run. It freezes and will not open. I then have to rename it -- mess with it for a very long time -- and when I am lucky, I have a different version somewhere that I can work off of. What causes this to happen? Then, when I finally DO get it up and running, the videos won't necessarily play. I have to delete that particular 1 minute video and re-insert it. Then it will run fine. UGH! Leopard 10.5.4 iMac intel -- NO windows installed! all updated programs (including, unfortunately, firefox -- YUCK!) Thanks in advance for any ideas.....
5. Any thinkpad experts out there? sound won't work
6. work laptop won't work on home network
Hello, The IT team at work just upgraded my laptop (Win 2000). I think they upgraded me to Active Directory. The laptop won't work on my home network anymore. At home, I have an NT4 workstation (called DIPPY) with printer and shared directories. I have a user account on the NT4 system with same username/password as my login on the work network. The workgroup setting on DIPPY is set to "SPUD", which is what the domain at work is called. Previously, I could connnect my laptop to shares & printers on DIPPY; the laptop seemed to automatically "know" to log on to the SPUD workgroup rather than SPUD domain. My laptop still "sees" DIPPY when I click on the Network icon. However, if I double-click on DIPPY, I get the following message: \\dippy is not accessible. There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request. Very strange. Do I need to change something on DIPPY to make this work? Thanks, Nandan
