How are you creating the print screen, and how are you trying to get it into
PPT? Which version of PPT?

Whenever I take a snapshot of the screen with the print screen key, I am
unable to paste it into a slide. Does anyone else have this issue or know how
to fix it?

XXXX@XXXXX.COM , "NAS"

Can you paste it into something else (perhaps, an image editing program like
Photoshop) and save the picture as a JPG, GIF, or PNG file. Then you can
choose Insert > Picture > From File.

I can paste it into a blank word document, then copy from there and paste it
into the powerpoint, but why is it that I cant paste it directly into the
powerpoint? It was working about an hour ago and then it seems like it stops
working whenever it wants to.

This may seem wacko but humor me. Or if you're in Australia, humour me.

Quit PowerPoint and any other software you're running. Shut down windows, power
down the PC, go have a cup of coffee, tea, milk, martini ...

Give it five minutes or so.

Come back, wave your hands over the PC and do a mysterious sounding chant (if
anybody's watching, it's really impressive when you do the next part and it works).

Power the PC back up and try again.

Whenever I use the print screen key to take a snapshot of my desktop (or
anything else), I cant paste it into a PowerPoint slide. I can however, paste
the snapshot into a word document and copy it from there but I've never had
this problem before. Any ideas?

you can do a paste special, then select bitmap and it should work.
I havent been able to figure out how to default to this setting yet however.

Save it first, then insert.
