powerpoint >> How to resize individual elements within a chart template

by RGFuYQ » Fri, 09 May 2008 01:40:03 GMT

I need to be able to alter slightly an individual element within the standard
chart template - the size of the "assistant" box.

I have applies the template to a slide and right-clicked the box that I want
to add an assistant box under. I then right-clicked the assistant box and
choose "Format Auto Shape". However, under "Format Auto Shape" all re-size
options are greyed out.

Is there any way to resize a box within this template???

What version?

You might want to try turning off "Layout" > AutoLayout as a start.

Strange because in 2003 I can resize boxes with the Format Autoshape dialogue
as long as AutoFormat is OFF

To clarify: I am trying this from within one of the pre-designed templates
that you can choose from under "Slide Layout" (what I referred to in my
original post as the "standard chart template".

I have the same problem if I insert an organizational chart (first option)
from diagrams option under the "View" menu...is their any other option to
insert this type of chart or build your own?

For me both those options allow me to resize elements!

Here's what I did

Chose Title & Content layout
Clicked diagram/org chart icon
added Org chart

With the Org Chart pop up chose Layout > autolayout off
right click > format autoshape > size tab

In PowerPoint 2002 is there a way to independently move/adjust the position
of individual components of a Group?

Motivation:
I copied a complex animation sequence from one presentation to another and
the relitive positions of individual components in a group moved slightly.
This group is a component of a very large animation sequence. If I ungroup
to adjust the position I lose the animation sequence.

8. Selecting an element from a set of stacked obscured elements

One might consider this a bug or at least a lost feature.

Problem: How do I select an obscured object, one that is under other objects?

I'm tring to to a simple flip card type animation with all elements the
same size stacked on top of eachother. Once they are stacked there is no way
to select just one of them. Prior Powerpoint versions supported object
selection from the animation window that also selected the object in the
slide window.

PP 2002 does not seem to provide this functionality. The object selection
does not carry back to the slide window.

Anyone have any suggestions? Moving all the other elements, one at a time,
to get to the particular one is clumsy.

Thanks in advance.
