powerpoint, SmartArt Resizing Individual Graphics

1. Smartart graphics resizing all the time

After creating a Hierarchy SmartArt graphic without any connectors connecting 
to any of the other boxes I run into the following problem. When I resize one 
of the boxes it resizes and moves my other boxes. 

Is there anything I can to keep the other boxes stable when I need to 
re-adjust another box?

I am helping someone with a hierarchy chart using SmartArt in Word 2007. We 
are not able to find a way to select all shapes and make them a uniform size 
at once. Is there a way to do that with SmartArt?

I need to be able to alter slightly an individual element within the standard 
chart template - the size of the "assistant" box.  

I have applies the template to a slide and right-clicked the box that I want 
to add an assistant box under.  I then right-clicked the assistant box and 
choose "Format Auto Shape".  However, under "Format Auto Shape" all re-size 
options are greyed out.

Is there any way to resize a box within this template???
