Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel A month or so ago, I wanted the TOC2 style in a particular document to display bullets at the beginning. It didn't really work, so I abandoned it.

However, since then whenever I click on the bullet icon to begin a bulleted list, the style changes to TOC2. The distance between the bullet and the text is huge and I can't change it. And there is no bullet for the following line - the style reverts to normal.

This means that I'm unable to use bulleted lists in my documents - all the bulleted styles have disappeared. If I try to define a new one, it just comes up as TOC2 again when I apply it, with the same problems.

I have replaced the normal template with renamed versions of other templates, but the problem won't go away - it seems to have affected every single one of my templates. Now none of them have usable bulleted styles.

I haven't heard of anyone else having this problem, and I have wasted hours trying to solve it. Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Chris
In my MS Word 2003 template, I have created bullets that are to be used in tables. (The text in my tables is one point smaller than regular body text.) I used Shauna Kelly excellent instructions ow to control bullets in Microsoft I have created three levels of bullets and they look great, but other styles (headers, footers and cover page text) have suddenly become corrupted. The corruption is consistent: The corrupted styles have all been formatted with my third level table bullet style. They use the same bullet and are indented by the same amount as the third level table bullet style. When I remove the third level bullet, the corruption goes away. Any idea on what is causing the problem and how I can fix it? Thanks, Jean
I'm trying to set a bullet style as a default i.e. every time I open a new document the space is standard between the bullet and the text. I've tried setting it in styles and I can do that as long as the document remains open, but as soon as I close it the style either disappears from the list or it's there but the spacing has reverted to the default.
