word >> Add text to smartart matrix

by Jeremy » Mon, 28 Jan 2008 00:10:39 GMT

Hi,

I would like to use the newt smartart matrix and add legends to the axes within the smartart. However I haven't been able to find a way to do that! Is it possible?

I think that a matrix is prett meaningless without a legend...

I hope this is possible but nor the Help provided nor Google have been able to tell me how to do this.

Thanks

word >> Add text to smartart matrix

Sorry, it is not possible.

Smart Art is designed to be used as a "component", not as the whole thing.
So you can use layered text boxes to add whatever legends you like around
the SmartArt.

You could float a text box over the top of a Smart Art to give the
appearance of a legend "inside" it.

If you do that, don't forget to group all your graphics items together
otherwise they will move around when you change the text.

Hope this helps

1. Help - can't add "promote" to add text box at SmartArt Graphics

Version: 2008
Processor: Intel

Hi,
I have chosen a SmartArt Graphics slide format with 4 quadrants in a pie style. I have added text within each of the actual 4 quadrants and was able to "promote" (or add) a text box to the top/left hand side quadrant. When I attempt to "promote" or add text boxes to expand upon my quadrants the promote button does not highlight and therefore a text box does not appear. How can I promote in the other 3 quadrants of my pie? Hoping somebody can help me!
Thanks,
Janine

3DMatrix 1.5 2004 for Mac OS X Now Available
Friday April 16
Major New Release of 3D Graphics Application 3D-Matrix

ADELAIDE AUSTRALIA--Apr. 16, 2004--Digital Scores today announced the
immediate availability of 3D-Matrix 2004 for Mac OS X, a powerful
environment for creating 3D models.

3D Matrix is targeted towards game developers and graphic designers
starting out in 3D modeling. 3D Matrix is easier to use than other
modeling packages, and offers an extensive range of export functions
so 3D Matrix can act as a gateway to other powerful tools.

Visual artists can quickly put complex 3D objects together and export
high resolution JPG images from scenes.

"3D Matrix 2004 has features that should have been there in earlier
versions, such as a multiple step undo and an open source file format.
We have kept the same 3D editing paradigm that we think is the easiest
to use out there" said Julian Cochran, president of products, Digital
Scores. "We can't wait to see some of the structures that creative
people will be coming out with and inspired games that developers will
be producing."

3D Matrix 2004 delivers substantial upgrades from the earlier
versions, offering an XML file format that gives developers more
control of the data, a flexible and memory efficient model design,
mirrored polygon groups that can be skewed and distorted, new polygon
optimization tools, a multi-step undo and redo feature and significant
upgrades to the Digital Scores GUI including a built-in web browser
and help system.

The application runs under Windows XP, Mac OS X and Linux.

Pricing and Availability

The free Lite Edition of 3DMatrix 2004, limited by reduced polygon
count, is available for download now from
www.digitalscores.com/3dmatrix. The commercial Standard Edition is
priced at US$299. Students can purchase the Standard Edition of 3D
Matrix at the academic price of US$79.

5. SmartArt inserting jpg lets [Text] show through

I've been using SmartArt in Word using text with no issues. When starting a
heirarchial list I pasted in a jpg image and the first sub-item always lets
the [Text] show through the image. Doesn't occur on subsequent sub-items on
the same level.
In the pop-out box on the left the initial [Text] dissappears when you paste
in the jpg image but it still bleeds through on the graphic.
any suggestions on how to clear it?
Thanks

7. Anchoriing Text Boxes in SmartArt

I have inserted some SmartArt in a Word 2007 document. I have also added
some text boxes. However when I put my cursor above the SmartArt and hit
return to move the object down the page,my text boxes do not move with it.
In fact, when I keeping htting return, it becomes apparent that the text
boxes are not actually within the SmartArt box even though I thought I
inserted them.

How do I embed the text boxes withing the SmartArt so that they move with
the SmartArt when moved and reshaped?

Thanks
