I'm inserting a pdf on a slide. The pdf has several pages, and I want to be able to have all available in the slide presentation. This is possible and available in Powerpoint on a PC -- in fact, that's how the slide was given to me. When I Insert>Piture, this option (treat picture layers as separate objects) is visible but grayed out -- and that's esactly what I want to do. How do I make this available -- or is it a bug?

I'm afraid you'll need to be far more explicit as to what method or
procedure you're referring to - especially with version information. PDF is
not a "picture" format & isn't recognized as such by either version of PPt -
Mac or PC - through the most current versions (2008/07).

Additionally, *pages* in a PDF are not the same as *layers* in an image
file, although I believe that PDFs which support layers can be created. Even
if that's true the PDF has to be generated from a layered document & the
layers would need to be preserved in the process. The feature you're
referring to pertains to valid image file formats such as TIFF & PSD which
do support layering & isn't intended to simply extract the pages of a PDF as
separate images.

No offense, but I seriously doubt that the slide you were given was created
in quite the manner you describe. If you can provide complete step-by-step
details I for one would be most grateful & knowing how this might be
accomplished on the PC may give some insight on how to do it on a Mac. But
AFAIK PDFs are inserted as Objects & only the top-most "page" actually
displays on the slide. Dbl-Clicking the PDF object will open the PDF in
Preview, Reader, whatever, where the additional pages can be viewed.

Hi,
Passing an argument through an OBJECT tag to a URL displayed in a layer only 
passes the argument to the OUTER page.

eg; The webpage xxx.yyy.com?P1 creates a CSS layer (lyrobj) and then uses a 
document.write (<object id='lyrobj' data='new.yy.com/b.html?P2'>); to insert 
a new webpage into the layer.

The javascript in b.html, when loaded, sees P1 as the string following the 
URL in location.search, instead of P2.  Is this a bug in IE7 or is there a 
better way to get P2? BTW, in Firefox, I get P2.

I have another question.  I often use many images layered one on top
of another in order to build a slide.  One easy way to highlight an
object that might be deep in the build without having to strip all of
the other images off the top was to go into Custom Animation,
highlight the relevant object and that would produce 'handles' to that
object on the slide.  It could then be easily deleted, moved or
brought forward/sent back etc.

This doesn't happen in 2002!  Highlighting the relevant object in the
custom animation window mereley higlights its timing number.  Anyone
got a cunning plan?

I'm a beginner so bear with me.  I know I can animate objects in a slide to dissolve and appear.  My problem is: I have an Architectural floor plan (hospital) with colored spaces (Photoshop image) for each year this building was renovated...how do I make these colored spaces appear (on mouse click) in order of the the year renovated. When I use multiple stacked images, the white background blocks my previous image.
