Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Power PC
I am trying to embed 2 to 3 minute mp4 or mpg videos. Powerpoint always crashes part way through the video. First the video freezes, then a few seconds later, PowerPoint crashes. I am current on all OS and application patches.
Any ideas?? 2008 has few advantages to 2004 version. I'm grateful that I bought this copy through my employer for $20...otherwise I be screaming>>

Sorry to hear your experience. Please post details of this issue if
possible. We'd appreciate if you could provide answers for the following
question. Do you see PPT crashes when you embed your movie to the slide? Do
you see PPT crashes when you view slide show of the presentation which has
movies in it? Is your movie file referencing to internet?

I experienced the same problem - here's how I fixed in.
In PowerPoint 2003 go to Insert select Object.
Create a new Windows Media Player and click okay.
Go back to your powerpoint page and right click on the media player and
select
properties.
The properties window will open, add your video file location to the URL and
change
whatever settings you need.
Worked fine for me.

I am running Powerpoint 2000 with Windows 2000. I have

when I double-click on the spreadsheet (inside Powerpoint)
the program crashes. It appears that the system is trying
to launch excel.exe but cannot.

7. Powerpoint 2007 always crashing with excel graphics embedded
Hi,
Powerpoint 2007 is always crashing when I try to modify or edit embedded
graphics from excel 2007. The link to the file is broken, which I don't
really care... I just want to move or rename titles or axis... If I move,
reposition or edit some of the graphics, and click on other graphics, PPT
freezes and has to restart. I have seen it happening often with different
files with the same features.
I tried to reinstall the office, run the troubleshooter...
Do I always have to delete the figures every time and find them again in
excel, repaste them in powerpoint to make it work?
