Hi, I just switch from Mac 2004 (v.11.3). When I used to make custom animations On Mac 2004 Powerpoint, I was able to select objects/texts to animate in the Custom Animation box which made me easy to select objects/texts for the animation when I had over laying objects/texts. In v.2008, it seems there is no way to select objects/texts in the Custom animation window, instead have to select objects in the slide window which makes me a lot harder to make custom animations when I have overlapping objects/texts because I need to bring the object to front to be able to select for the animation. Is there any way to select objects/texts in the Custom window or without changing "arrange" as we used to do in v.2004?

Thanks.

3. Ways to uniquely identify objects in Word/Powerpoint

Hi,

I'm developing 3 addins for Word, Excel and Powerpoint using VSTO.

I would like to know if there are any best practices to uniquely
name/identify controls in the Word/Powerpoint addins as Excel does (Named
range)?

* Word (content controls, tables)
* PowerPoint (Shapes)

So far, I've been using the (Word) content control's Title, table's Id and
(PowerPoint) shape's Name properties to set/identify them. However, I can't
guarantee that these properties will not be changed by the user, or that
their values will be unique.

Why do I need this? My addins are supposed to be able to insert
shapes/controls/reports to the active document/presentation, and retrieve
them by their "names".

Any recommendations? Are there any other properties in a content
control/table/shape that I can use to store this additional information,
without worrying the another addin (or the user) will change this?

Thanks

Hi...

I was given an existing powerpoint presentation that I'm translating to another language. I'm deleting many of the old text objects and adding new text objects in the new language. As part of this, I'm re-animating many of the text objects in the custom animation area.

On the left side of the custom animation screen in the "Select to animate:" column, I can still see all of the old text objects. To be clear, I've deleted these text objects from the slide itself, but they still appear in the "Select to animate:" list. If I actually try to animate one of these old objects, nothing happens, because the object doesn't really exist on the slide anymore.

How do I remove these OLD text objects from the custom animation area? They are making things quite confusing and I'd like to clean up the presentation and get rid of them.

Thanks!
