I have downloaded a few "presentations" from a test preparation website ( <http://www3.uakron.edu/education/PraxisII/praxisIInew.htm> ) and plan to create flashcards after printing handouts of 6 slides/page.

However, the color scheme, as well as the entirety of the formatting is horrendous for my purposes and eyesight! I can't seem to find a way to remove the formatting completely so that I will be left with simply a white background black text on every slide.

I've tried everything. How can I modify the theme/color scheme/font styling for an entire slide show that already exists? I've tried applying different themes and nothing's working...it only changes the colors of the objects/shapes and text, etc. Ideally, I want to remove all formatting.

The key ingredient in successfully changing/removing anything [in any type
of file] is knowing how it was applied in the first place. The effects you
vaguely describe could have been done in several ways depending on what
version of PPT was used to create the file as well as the file format.

Applying different Themes, however, will not do much -- if anything -- if
what you're trying to modify wasn't applied by way of a Theme in the first
place. Anything attained by way of direct formatting might have to be
changed by the same method.

You claim to have "tried everything" but don't really list very much in your
post :-) For example:

Have you tried editing the Slide Master? [View> Master> Slide Master]

Have you tried Insert> Slides From> Other Presentation... ?

I want to be able to change the size/aspect ratio of a slide/background (from 
4:3 to 16:9 for example) without the pictures getting stretched.  I work at a 
church and we receive PowerPoint presentations in the standard 4:3 aspect 
ratio but our projectors are more of a widescreen format.  We have been just 
going into the "Design" tab, clicking the "Page Setup" button and changing 
the size to 16:9 to "convert" an entire presentation.  This works fine for 
text for the most part (not a big deal if that gets stretched out) but for 
pictures and graphics it looks terrible.  Does anyone know how to do this to 
get the desired results?

4. How do I insert slides without changing numbering of existing slid 

In a standard presentation with slide number displayed in header/footer can I 
insert un-numbered slide(s) without incrementing the numbers of slides that 
follow. I can insert slides and suppress the number for those but the 
following slide numbers increase.
What I want to be able to do is insert a few extra slides between say slides 
47 and 48 so that the original slide 48 stays slide 48 (and all subsequent 
slides keep the same numbers they had before).

incorrect on the template.

8. Macro fails when used to modify existing value 

On my invoicing page I have a macro that runs when a Tax Type is selected, 
and it looks up the applicable tax rate and this is then used to calculate 
the tax amount based on the net charge amount and create the gross charge 
amount.

It works absolutely fine when used the first time round i.e. when first 
creating a particular invoice.

However if we then go back into that invoice and need to edit the Tax Type 
(perhaps the user got it wrong) then the macro fails as soon as the combo to 
choose a different Tax Type is used. We have to hit Halt twice in the dialog 
boxes that appear and then nothing has been calculated.

What can the problem be??
