Depends on a number of variables: What type of file & what software you have
access to... Keynote, for example may open some file types that PPt won't &
vice versa. If worst comes to worst & you're willing to pay the price there
are file conversion services available on the web or you may want to invest
in a program such as MacLink Plus Deluxe:

Verify the File Types Supported before you buy, but it can handle quite a
variety.

4. PP 2004 crashes when opening old PP document with audio

Hello,
I'm having trouble opening PowerPoint documents created in Office X
using Office 2004. If the document contains links to audio files
PowerPoint crashes before completing the startup process. PP docs
created in Office X that do not contain audio open fine. I have:
1. Repaired permissions
2. Checked for and deleted corrupt fonts and font caches
3. Trashed PP prefs from user and main library folders
4. Checked and made sure audio files were 'read and write' enabled

BTW - These PP docs still open fine in Office X.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

6. trying to open 15 year old superpaint files

I had superpaint MS1.1. First on the 512K mac and then on the SE 30.
I can't for the life of me open those documents. I had them stored on
a zip100. I recently found someone who could put that to a cd. The
files are not recognized as superpaint files by GIF converter (not
recognized at all). I tried adding the ".mac" to the end of them and
was able to open a macpaint demo file (boneless chicken ranch). But
the superpaint files remain a mistery.

I worked hours on some of those docs, that I would love to see. Is
there some way to open them? ( I have iMac G3 now; OS X)

8. Spinning wheel when I try to open a document or save

I'm running OSX 10.4.3 and word 2004, just this week I 've found I can't open
any documents, Word will launch ok from the dock and a new black document is
created.

If I try to save the document I get the spinning wheel, If I try to open an
existing document I get the spinning wheel.

Has anyone had this problem?
