1. 12.1.7 Update won't open .xlsx files.
Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel I updated office today (to 12.1.7) and now excel won't open .xlsx files. It can do files that were originally saved as .xls okay, but if i manually convert from .xlsx to .xls, it doesn't. It say (for both situations) This file might have been damaged or modified from its original format. I'm running 10.5.7. Any help would be greatly appreciated! thanks!

Microsoft Office just auto updated, and now I can't open any Microsoft Office Programs (use Word, Excel, and Powerpoint). Icons in the doc bounce once and stop. It's now not possible to save as ppt 97-04 a presentation with an embedded pdf image. steps to recreate: 1. create new presentation 2. insert-picture-from file- choose a pdf image 3. save as-format 'ppt 97-4' ppt then crashes! this means not possible to paste into ppt from excel! p
