powerpoint >> Changing slide timings

Version: 2008

Processor: Intel

After you rehearse a slide show is there a way to edit the timings on an individual slide (without rerecording). (I recall you could do this on older versions of PowerPoint).

Thanks

If you have no timings as yet it's often easiest to use Slide Show> Rehearse
Timings. Advance the slides manually at the preferred intervals. The elapsed
time will be recorded & you can accept the settings once you've gone through
the slides.

If you already have timings & want to change them click Transitions in the
Elements Gallery, select a slide [preferably in Slide Sorter View], then
click the Options button on the left end of the Transitions bar.

Alternatively, you can set the initial timings in that same way & you can
run the Rehearse Timings command to reset existing timings.

As a suggestion, had you simply typed the phrase "slide timing" into the
Search box you could have had this information hours ago :-)

That is exactly what I was looking for. I forgot that it was part of a transition!!!!

1. Images don't fit entire slide + Timing slides

If my screen settings on my computer are set to 1024 x 768 and I have
an image that is just a little bit under 1000 pixels wide, doesn't
that mean the image should just about fill the entire slide area in
Powerpoint? I inserted a whole heap of images into a P/P document and
they all only filled about a third of the slide area. Before scanning
the images, I measured them and only scanned them at a resolution that
would result in just enough pixels to fit the entire slide area - in
my case I scanned at about 178 ppi. I can't understand why this is
happening. Can someone point me in the right direction?

I'm also experiencing another problem whereby I need the slides in the
presentation to automatically advance over a 4 minute and 45 second
period. Someone explained how to do this earlier, but after working
out how many seconds to enter before each slide progresses and also
adding a dissolve transition, I'm finding that the timing is out by
over a minute. Is it the transition that is making it longer than it's
supposed to be?

Any help would be appreciated

5. Changing timing on one slide?

How can I change the timing on 1 slide? I have custom timing done through "rehearsal" and it appears to me that the only way I can change it is to completely go through and re-do it all - which will mess up my music - I just need to give 1 slide another 8-10 seconds....and, it's the LAST slide! Thanks so much
