This was my husband's number one item on his wish list this Christmas. He's a contractor and loves his Dewalt tools. He is very happy with it, it is everything he expected, and seems satisfied. I was glad that it was sold without the battery pack, as he already owns half a dozen 18v batteries from other Dewalt tools, so another was just an added expense we didn't need. Delivery was fast, although now I wish I didn't pay for express delivery, it arrived well ahead of Christmas, and probably would have gotten here anyway without paying extra.
This had a greater impact on my wallet than the job. When I saw this item I thought it could be the solution to several projects on the horizon so I ordered it. I had to put up a metal building and had countless bolts and screws to install and I was also preparing to change a bunch of tires for the winter season. On the metal building the tool was good for the small screws and up to 1/2" bolts but that's it. It was useless for anything larger. So as I learned from the 1st experience on the building the only good it served in changing tires was to get the lug nuts started and snug and I had to use my 4 way to tighten the lugs. Not what I expected from an impact wrench. Just not enough torque.
Product came in without a packing slip and very little packaging material. At least there was no damage. I'm still waiting on a packing slip to show up after sending an email about a week ago.
This tool is a must have. I have owned several cordless drills, but am impact driver puts them all to shame. I reach for it every time over my other DeWalt cordless drill. I don't know how I ever lived without it.
I picked up this driver because I thought it would be handy while I'm renovating a fixer-upper house. I was right. Originally I purchased a palm nailer to drive framing nails but quickly abandoned that in favor of driving screws with the Dewalt impact driver. I can't recommend this driver enough for putting long screws through framing and decking lumber. I recommend driving a few screws into scrap so you don't accidentally drive them too far into soft wood (like pine) but it doesn't take much practice to effortlessly and quickly drive screw after screw after screw. If your screwdriving needs are more modest I'd recommend a lighter driver, but if you're doing home construction type work I can't recommend this driver highly enough.
Includes: Impact Driver and Case (NEW)
