Hello and thank you!

I've experienced many crashes with PowerPoint since updating to version 2008, and I've been able to duplicate this crash by clicking on "File," then "Open Recent."

Whenever I click on "Open Recent" PowerPoint crashes.

Any ideas?

We can't help you unless you include full version update information for
both Office & OS X - "Leopard 10.5" & "Office 2008" just doesn't do it.

Also, please don't post the same fundamental *Office* issue in multiple
separate groups for the individual applications. It makes it more difficult
for you to follow your replies and redundant for those taking the time to
respond.

SOLVED!!! :)

I had to uninstall Office. Then, when I reinstalled it, I selected the custom install function (bottom left corner) and deselected the fonts option.

When I installed it, I could click on "Open Recent" and it doesn't crash any more.

Yay! :)

3. Start up task pane - opening recent files 

Hi,

I have enabled Startup task pane in tools options, so that I can open 
recently opened files etc.

If I click on even one file from this pane, then the pane gets closed and am 
not able to open more files which are of recently used origin. I will have 
to go to edit-office clipboard and then from the drop down change to new 
presentation and then click on more recent files.

Does that happened to others as well.

Also start up task pane should have a minimize button (would that make 
sense). I dont want it to occupy costly real estate and would prefer it to 
be like a floating toolbar so that when Iam generous it occupies the right 
hand side and when am in a bad mood it makes an unobtrusive "exit". Is there 
no way out other than customizing my toolbar using customize?
