Having problems with PowerPoint crashes. Not sure if linked to recent
NAV 9.0 installation so I unistalled NAV 9.0. Reinstalled Office,
reinstalled OS X. Still crashing. Can anyone help?

I am running Powerpoint 2004 Vsn 11.2. I just updated last night all
of the Office updates.

Now when i try to use customize animation, powerpoint crashes.

Any clues would be apprecaited.

Run Disk Utility and repair permssions. There's a chance that could

Hi,

That did not seem to fix the problem - I verified and repaired
permissions, and restarted the computer, and reran Powerpoint.
Everything was fine until I attempted the custom animation feature.
Powerpoint then crashed on me.

It may be just my particular Powerpoint file. Is there a way to check
that file for errors?

OK,

Next step is to make sure Powerpoint is not running.

Go to the User > Library > Preferences folder and find all of the
PowerPoint preference files.
com.microsoft.PowerPoint.plist
Microsoft PowerPoint.box
Look in the Microsoft folder in the Preferences folder for more.

Put the prefs into the trash.
Empty the trash.

Open PowerPoint and try a custom animation.

To be clear, what exactly are you doing? Launching PPT to a new blank
file, typing text, selecting and then going to Slide Show | Custom
Animation and then you crash? Or are there other steps involved?

I am using a MacBook Pro with Tiger 10.4.8 and Microsoft Office 2004.
When I try to copy a picture from one PowerPoint Presentation to
another, PowerPoint crashes and everything is lost. Any suggestions?

Hi,

You don't state what steps you are taking. I'll assume you are using Edit >
Copy and Edit > Paste. Doing it this way uses the MacOS clipboard.

Office has its own clipboard, so maybe if you use that one it will work
without problem. Click the red Toolbox icon and click the left tab to get
the scrapbook. Try using the scrapbook to move the object.

Another alternative is to control-click on the picture. Save the picture as
a file, then import the file into the other presentation.

The crash indicates there might be corruption in the picture itself, so if
you get it to move successfully you might consider deleting the original and
replacing it with its copy.

I have Office 2004 for Mac with ppt 11.3.5. I have a new MacBook with Leopard as the OS. Powerpoint keeps crashing - just closing, not freezing, and when I re-open Powerpoint the autorecovery doesn't open up. I'm trying to remember to save constantly, but I've still been losing quite a bit of work. <br><br>Is this a known bug, and if so is there anything I can do? If not is there any way to directly access the autorecovery file? <br><br>Thank you!

I have Office 2008 and I to am having the same problem with the program closing, saying it has encountered an error and needs to shut down, autorecovery works if it's recently been saved.

I too am trying to figure out if this is a bug and going to be fixed. So far I have had not problems with Word, Excel, or Entourage.....

Every time I try to put PPT into Show mode it automatically cuts off. Any suggestions how to fix this?

Can you send a crash report? Also, which version of mac PPT is this?

I have just put together my first PP presentation, and everything works well except when I go to the slideshow mode, PowerPoint crashes and the program end.
