Hi

I have a strange problem.  I have just implemented a new ISA Server 2004 to
replace our separate VPN and proxy servers.  The old proxy server was an ISA
Server 2004 with 1 network card, all clients could connect to the internet.

When I point my clients at the new server (which has 3 network cards
Internal, External & Perimeter) I have about 15% of clients that have a User
Authentiaction dialog box appear.  Whatever username and password I put in
will not work, even if I put my Domain Admin ones in.  If you choose cancel,
you get "Network Access Message" Error Code 407. Proxy Authentication
Required. ....... Access to Web Proxy service is denied (12209)

It seems to be W2K clients with IE6.

Any ideas?

Hi,

We are running SBS 2003 Premium, including ISA Server 2000 
with Windows XP Pro clients. A few of the computers are 
having a problem where they are constantly being asked to 
authenticate to the proxy server, even though they are 
logged on to the SBS server that hosts ISA.

The message is:
-----
Please enter password for HTTP proxy
Your HTTP proxy requires authentication.  Please enter the 
appropriate user name and password.
-----

Entering the user name and password causes the message 
window to go away, but it reappears after a few minutes, 
and still contains the credentials as they were entered.

I have tried what seems like everything, but I can't seem 
to stop these messages from comming up.  It is only 
happening on a few computers.

Any ideas?

Hi All -
I've got a fully patched and updated SBS03 - ISA04 combo running perfectly.
However, a user needs to download and install an application that will need 
periodic updates.  With the Firewall Client running, she gets a "proxy 
authentication is required" error from the application on her Workstation.
In ISA, I logged the process and the "Get" request is made and allowed from 
the user via the Internet Access Rule, through port 80 to the Website.
However, that same rule denies it with the destination port as 8080 and the 
destination IP as being my Inside NIC.  The denied client username is 
Anonymous.
Details are:
Status: 12209 The ISA Server requires authorization to fulfill the request. 
Access to the Web Proxy service is denied.
Source: Internal (Inside IP address:0)
Destination: External (Inside IP address:8080)
Protocol: http

I know I've seen this once before, but cant remember what I did to correct 
it.
Any help would be great!

I am trying to run an http test from a monitoring tool to check the http 
status code of external URL like www.google.com. And I am getting this error 
message-

HTTP/1.1 407 Proxy Authentication Required ( The ISA Server requires 
authorization to fulfill the request. Access to the Web Proxy service is 
denied.  )

The ISA server requires NTLM authentication. I have tried putting the NTLM 
credentials but no luck so far. I keep getting this error message. Any help 
would be highly appreciated.
