ISA Clients >> multiple firewall client configuration change

by TW9ybmU » Wed, 15 Mar 2006 19:29:28 GMT

Hi. I have a bit of a problem and if anyone has an idea how I can solve it,
it will be appreciated. I have a few hundred clients and some have configured
manually and the others automatically. Is there a way by script or group
policy to force all the ISA Firewall client installations to use automatic
configuration?

Thanks,

Morne

ISA Clients >> multiple firewall client configuration change

You can set automatic detection settings on the properties of an ISA Server
network (Firewall Client tab), and these will affect all Firewall clients
for a specific network.
In addition (or alternatively), you can use group policy to push an
automatic configuration script location.

3. Problem with multiple IP addresses on the external interface with Firewall clients

Hello,

We have a sbs2003 server with ISA. The configuration of ISA work like a
charme with one ip number on the external interface. When I add a second ip
number on the external interface the Firewall clients rules are not working.
Clients wich are defined in a client address set have no problems. When I
deleted the second ip number on the external interface everything is working
well again. The configuration of the internal interface is 172.16.1.1 mask
255.255.255.0 without a gateway. The external interface 10.100.100.10 mask
255.255.255.0 and gateway 10.100.100.1 When I add 10.100.100.11 mask
255.255.255.0 to the external interface I get the problem with the Firewall
clients. I also reboot the server and the client and also removed the
firewall client and installed again with no luck. Anybody a clue?

Fred

7. Firewall Client Configuration

Hi Guys

I want to install the firewall client on each workstation using group
policy, however, i don't want the tray icon to be visible for the user.
I've searched the net for how to disable it and all i've found is to add the
following section:

[TrayIcon]
TrayIconVisualState=0

to the common.ini located in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application
Data\Microsoft\Firewall Client 2004 on each of the clients.

1st of all i can't seem to get this to work, if i add the information to the
file and log back on the icon still appears. Only when i load up the client
application and click on the "hide icon" checkbox does it disappear. Does
this setting get saved in the registry? Can i not perform this through
active directory group policy? Any ideas on how to do this?

Thanks

Jonny
