Hi
We are using ISA 2004 ,i have added gmail URL in the blocked site list ,so
the ISA Block http://www.gmail.com ,if the users try https://gmail.com (thru
SSL) ISA Didn't block the gmail and allow its users to access Gmail

Pls suggest

Hi Jay,
I hope you are enjoying well, please go into command prompt and use
nslookup .....and type ...... www.gmail.com........ it will give you some ip
address and some alies........ please add these IP address and alies of GMAIL
....... I hope , it will work.
Secondly, use........ http:// and https://.......... Thanks.......

Thanks for ur response
Yes ,i can find the IP address of those ,but i couln't add IP on the Domain
nmae list ,since i can add only url
it blocks http://www.gmail.com
it DOEsn't block https://www.gmail.com
Since i have added both in my block list
So the users just added https and access Gmail ,Also want to Disable gmail
chat

please suggest

or create a DNS zone talk.google.com pointing to 127.0.0.1

you can also nslookup to the gmail
and block that particular ip addresses

use the standard rule for my Blocked Web Sites in ISA Server 2006 (Http,
Https sites)

add to Block the following URL as rule:

http://x.x.x.x

If the ip is changed the ip next time make following

Isa Server

Monitoring

Logging

Edit Filter

Log Record Type, Equals, Firewall or Wb Proxy Filter

Log Time, Live

Action, Equals, Initiated Connection



then login with a account to gmail and look at the connected ip adresses and
notice them and try it. Some of ip adresses block gmail, please be carefully
(notice ip numbers before make rules and tests)



DON'T FORGET TO BLOCK GMAIL RESOLVE AND SUPPORT LINKS FOR THIS BLOCK
SITUATION!!! VERY IMPORTANT THAT GMAIL ADMINS/SUPPORT TEAM IS NOT CHANGE THE
IP ADRESS QUICKLY!!!

BLOCK THIS TOO > http://mail.google.com/support/ *

Dear Jay, Here is the solution for you.

Just login into your gmail account and save the url from your address bar.
After that create one new rule in ISA denying http and https ports to the
url which you have saved from gamil site. It works perfectly.

Hi

I have recently tried to banned sites like orkut,youtube and gmail using 
ISA2004. However the sites can still be accessed. But if i block google , the 
other sites are also blocked. 

How do i block the above sites, without blocking googles search engine. Also 
if *.orkut.com  is blocked there are sites like powerchat which will allow 
them to access. How is it possible to completely ban the connection to orkut 
server

Also if i have to ban sites which fall on same categories. Ex: Porn sites . 
It is difficult for administrator to go around and check for all the sites 
and block all url. Is there a way it block the sites if the requested sites 
contents or url contain reference to porn or sex or any stuff like that.

I try to open pop3s protocol for destination pop.gmail.com or
