i am new to windows shells scripting...i also hope i am posting in the right

basically i have some folders & i want to backup them up across the
network...so i want to copy the folders across BUT only copy the files that
need to be copied i.e no need to copy the files if they had been copied
across previously, as i update these folders regurlary & want to backup them
up over the network
so basically i want to automate this using a shell script than manually
copying the files across
can anyone point me in the right direction as to how to write a shell script
to do this
