html >> Repair Dreamweaver Design

by buck8 » Sat, 07 Jan 2006 11:45:43 GMT

:o Hello. I am a newbie first thing. I made a mistake. I designed a web page
for my business in my screen resolution of 1280X1024 using Dreamweaver 8. After
2 or 3 weeks, I thought I was done. I gave the finished product to my President
who had to scroll up and down because their resolution was lower. To make this
short, I designed using pixels instead of %. I am now having major headaches
tryiing to redesign in 800 X 600 mode. I have a top table with 8 images in it.
A table under that for a slogan. Under that , I have a table to the left for my
buttons wish now seem huge 175x27 px. And to the right of that, just one table
for information. I hope I am posting this in the right place, if not, sorry. I
am just wondering where my original looks so nice, is there anyway to "repair"
it so that it can be viewed in all resolutions. I noticed their is a code
attach button which I will use. Please help if you can. Thank you.

Actually the dreamweaver general discussion forum would be a better place
for this post. Can you redo it over there? Also, if the page has been
uploaded to some webspace please post a link to the page instead of
embedding the code.

Is there any possibilities from ASP to run the "Compact and repair database"

My access database is on the remote server and because of the size it is not
a good solution to first download it, then "compact and repair" and then
upload it again.

Thanks

How to automatically repair links in a local site, i have a problem because i lost a lot of links moving files manually.

I think that could be a tool in dreamweber Mx to repair links in entire site. I know that MMX automatically repair links when you move an element from a folder to another folder, but now i need to repair all the site.

Thanks for all

My Version is Macromedia MX, and i am using a Local site without server technology.

8. How do I repair broken Javascript links?

I am currently using Dreamweaver to produce an html CD mailshot for a client.
The job is almost completed, but when checking for broken links I discovered
that the following were listed:

 +menu.bgImageUp+
 '+ menu.childMenuIcon +'

I assume that these are both Javascript commands - but how do I work out which
pages or files they are supposed to be linked to and how do I relink them if
necessary?

Also, I have deleted all listed unnecessary orphaned files except for one
which is a page from my document. The Link Checker describes it as 'a file with
no incoming links' which is patently untrue as it has several. Should I simply
ignore the checker, or is there something critical going on here?

 Many thanks.
