html >> accessibility issue

Can anyone help me? I have just started with Dreamweaver for the first time.( I
have only used Director before) I am designing a school website and need to
make it accessible to users with poor sight and dyslexia. I want to develop a
way that the user can click on a button or toolbar to change the background
colour and text size. I have no idea if this can be done in dreamweaver. Can
anyone point me in the right direction? My computing knowledge is limited but I
am willing to have a go.
Thanks in anticipation.

4. Alt text in image map and accessibility issues

 Ok here's the deal...

I have a main image nav with about 10 buttons on it with corresponding
hotspots on top of those buttons. If I have the "ALT" text inserted on those
buttons (ex: homepage, contact us, etc...), do I need to put in text links at
bottom of page for those individuals that have images turned off?

The way I see it (and please correct me if I'm wrong)...if they have images
turned off, then they'll still be able to at least see the "ALT" text on the
page and click on the image map accordingly, negating need for optional text
links.

Also, in terms of making the site "accessible", should the "ALT" text on the
image map say "click here for homepage" or is simply "homepage" enough?

 Hope this makes sense...

6. Preferences - Accessibility issues

I have updated my Preferences under Accessibility by selecting a few of the
options (tables, images, etc.). When I go to create a table the additional
fields (captions and description) do not appear. I closed/reopened DW to see if
that was the problem but it did not alleviate the problem. Is there an update
to fix this, is it user error or do I have a lemon? Any help would be
appreciated. Thanks!

Especially since you can remove the buttons which you don't want to use (View ==> Toolbars ==> Customize).
