I used MBSA on IIS 5 web Internet server and I've got the
report that MS03-040 is not installed. I never use IE for
Internet browsing on this server. Do I still need to
install it?

Microsoft says this is critical and it should be downloaded even if you don't use Explorer as your IP. I tried downloding it and got the reply "MS Explorer is not loaded" or something like that. What does that mean?

AFter applying the bulletin referenced below, my servers have been getting the following errors: Event Type: Error Event Source: Service Control Manager Event ID: 7031 Description: The IIS Admin Service service terminated unexpectedly. The following corrective action will be taken in 1 milliseconds: Run the configured recovery program Event Type: Error Event Source: Service Control Manager Event ID: 7031 Description: The World Wide Web Publishing Service service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this X time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 0 milliseconds: No action. Does anyone have any clue how to correct this short of uninstalling the patch.

Hello, Yesterday I have installed the KB886903 patch for .NET framework 1.1 and after restart the server (Windows 2000 Srv.) the IIS doesn serve any of the asp.net applications that are installed. Always return 404 error of "element not found". I tryed to do everything but with no results, so I have unistalled the patch and all the applications works again. If anybody knows something about this, please tell. Thanks.
