bcm >> Database location and backu

I am trying to determine if Outlook BCM will work for me. I use ACT 6.0 now
with a single database. Can Outlook BCM be set up so all of the data is
stored on a single computer on our network. I would then backup the one hard
drive to protect the data. I could not tell if 5-6 users could share one
.pst file with 5000-1000 contacts in the database.

Hi

You can host your BCM database on a single computer and share the data among
5 users if you are running BCM V2.

As for the PST file in Outlook there is no default option to share it. You
might end up putting the PST file to a common network location and opening
if for other users who require access. However note that only one user can
access the PST file at a time and it is not a supported configuration

Is '5' users a hard limit, or just in reference to the question above?

if not, is there a hard limit to the number of 'shared' users?

There's not hard limit on the number of users. 5 is the recommended
maximum. The limit will be performance. Depending on the speed,
memory, the version of sql server, number of Contacts and history
items, and how busy the users are, things will slow down as you add
more users.

Hello,

Outlook personal folders backup tool works like a charm.

The only issue is, I don't know how to include new folders that also need to

shows three of my personal folders and I have checked them. I need to include
three more folders here. How do I do it?

Your help is much appreciated.

7. Outlook 2003 Database Location Setup

I'm looking at switching my Maximizer/Eudora to using Outlook 2003 for
contacts, email etc....
I work from both my desktop and notebook. With Eudora/Maximizer I just keep
all my data under folders in C:\data\
That way, I can simply move the folders between my desktop and my notebook
when leaving for a few days and move it back when I get back.
Outlook saves the files under Documents & settings\user ...
Has anyone tried to successfully done this?
Thanks
