bcm >> BCM 2007 installed on a SBS2003 Server

by VGluY3Vw » Wed, 21 Feb 2007 18:30:36 GMT

Has anyone succesfully installed Outlook 2007 BCM onto a SBS 2003 server with
SQL2005.

I am looking for some direction to accomplish this I have check a white
paper deploying Outlook with BCM in a remote database configuration.

This was for the beta version there are syntax errors in the scripts. Put
simply for a SQL novice it doesnt help.

How far off release date is this tool as I'm about to go through the same
process & I might as well wait for the tool if it's not long in coming

1. Installing BCM 2007 on Remote Server with MS Server 2003

I am considering installing Office 2007 including Outlook with BCM on our
remote server. We have Server 2003 Standard Edition SP2. We access the
server through Terminal Services.

First of all I'm told that retail versions won't work if we access it
through TS and we need to buy volume licensing (minimum of five licenses).
We only have three users - is there any way around that?

Secondly, all three users would need to access a shared BCM database
including calendar. Are there any issues that would prevent us from being
able to do this?

2. how can i install BCM in SBS2003 environment ?

3. (revised) INSTALL BCM - uninstall BCM - install BCM - still no BCM

An Addendum - 10 minutes later)
I just went into the DATA FILE MANAGEMENT setting on OLK (outlook) and added
BCM. Like before - it installs it but there is NO TOOLBAR so I cannot
restore - move - or add contact to my old BCM contact database. (from a
previous version of outlook). SO - my problems are reduced to ADDING THE BCM
TOOLBAR to the top of my OUTLOOK 2003 window.
I have the OUTLOOK CONNECTOR showing but no BCM. thanx again - in advance -

4. INSTALL BCM - uninstall BCM - install BCM - still no BCM

5. BCM 2007 - SQL Server 2005 SP2 - Messages during install

I don't have Outlook 2007 with Business Contact Manager B2TR installed
because every time I try to do so two messages pop up on my screen during the
installation telling me that I need to install SQL Server 2005 SP2 or later
before running BCM. Well, I've looked and there is nothing later than SP1 on
the Microsoft website.

Can someone please help me with this?

Thanks!

As part of the Installation of the Outlook 2007 BCM install, SQL
Server 2005

name is "X13-40150.exe". The installation fails with the error
message:

I've tried uninstalling all SQL Server components, and MSDE and tried
the install again. Same error occured.

I'm using Windows XP.
