bcm >> Migration to server

Dear all,

at first: Happy New Year to everyboday out there.

Because business is growing I tried to move a database from a single pc to a
server. I'm using the database tool from microsoft.
But when restoring the old database I got an error message:

"This database was created in the Deutsch(Deutschland) version if Business
Contact Manager for Outlook, and is not supported in this English(United
States) version."

Well, I understand what it says, but I dont' know how to create a "Deutsch"
(=german) version of the database on the server whithout installing Office
2007 on it.

Any ideas or hints?
Is there another tool for german databases?

Thanks
Michael

2. Outlook 2001 Mac and Exchange Server 5.5 migration to 2003

Hi,

we migrated from Exchange Server 5.5 to 2003. We have Mac and Windows
clients in our network, Mac OS from 9.2 to 10.3.9 and Windows 98SE to XP
Prof. For the macs we use Outlook 2001 (v9.0-Build 1808). We can use
Entourage, because we must have access to several inboxes. After moving the
users mailboxes to the new server (the servers are connected via Active
Directory Connector, running on the Primary Domain Controller), I switched
off the old one last thursday. Everything seems to be right, but the Mac
clients freeze after a while, the application hangs. Creating a new profile
doesn work too.

Has anyone out there experience with the same problem and how to solve it?
Our IT- and Mac-experts we are working together with are helpless too.

4. Migration to Another Server.

We are getting ready to move EPM from a test pilot/proof of concept phase to
a production environment. Is there any reference material on migrating to
another server 'gracefully' and keeping the already built RBS, the customized
views, the resource pool, and all other custom features we've built?

6. Partial migration from local Outlook to Exchange Server?

Hello

I am a freelance consultant with a number of clients. Many of these have
supplied me with email accounts so I appear to be from their organisation
when dealing with third parties. In all, I have some 20 POP accounts running
continuously and local mail filters move incoming mail into the relevent
client's folder.

One of my biggest clients now wants all staff and consultants to move across
onto a hosted exchange server so we can share contacts, calendars and so
on - all of which makes a lot of sense.

The exchange server hosting company has sent through documents to assist in
migration but all these are aimed at internal staff members and basically
involves a process as follows:
- backing up local .pst file
- clicking on an autoconfiguration file for the new exchange server
- syncing all data from the .pst file to the new exchange system

Now, I have some issues with this:
I do not want *all* my data/emails/tasks etc to be moved across to the new
server.
I only want contacts relevant to that client to enter the hosted contacts
database.
I only want calendar appointments relevant to that client to be visible on
the exchange server with all other appointments visible purely as
"free/busy" information.

I am sure that I cannot be the first person to have been in this situation
and that Microsoft, in their infinite wisdom, have probably already thought
this one through. I have googled extensively but cannot quite put my finger
on what I should be doing and, perhaps more importantly, in what order.

Could anybody please point me in the right direction?

Thank you.

8. Exchange Server Migration - Rules Error

We just took a big jump and upgraded from Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2003. I'm
running Outlook 2003 SP2. Everything seems fine, except for my rules. Some
of them work, some don't. When I try to access them, I click on Tools, then
Rules and Alerts..., I immediately get a message "You are currently working
offline. To use this command, you must go online and connect to the
Microsoft Exchange Server." I know that I'm already online. Down in the
bottom right corner, it shows as "Connected" and I can send and recieve
emails.

Any ideas why I can't access my rules?

Thanks
