I installed webmin-1.110.pkg.gz for solaris 9 x86 anyway. I have downloaded
it and run the pkgadd -s <filename>
and install it. everything seemed to go fine. when I try to get to it my
browser and
enter locahost:10000 or 127.0.0.1:10000 or my ip and :10000 I get
> > connection refused. same if I use https. what have I done wrong?

I fixed this before at some point but after I re-installed sol 9x86 again I
can not get it to work

You have to start the server. Find the webmin-init script and execute it.

[webmin-0.970]# ./webmin-init &
[1] 1436
[webmin-0.970]# Usage: ./webmin-init { start | stop | restart }

I am possibly missing something, but this does not *look* like
the right way to start it...

The blastwave package may have provided a script in /etc/init.d but it
would function just the same way as (on my system)
/opt/sfw/share/webmin-0.970/webmin-init. Personally I would rather the
thing not start unless I do it manually.

You may need to run the setup.sh script to establish the admin's name and
listening port. If fastrpc.cgi does not contain $port = 10000; then run
the setup.sh script.

Did you do "./webmin-init" or "./webmin-init start"? It seems like
the second is correct, based on the usage message.

I am currently trying to use Mandrake linux as my Jabber Server. I
would like to have a function that would enable me to start this
program from the startup sequence. I am currently using Webmin, and
it gives the option to create a script for bootup purposes. However,
in order to create this, I would have to be able to send a <return>
keystroke to the program. How would i do this? I would be grateful

6. reserve ip-adress in dhcp-server via webmin

hi all

i have just installed red hat 9.0 on a machine, that is to be used as a dhcp
server for our apartment network, currently 370 apartments

since i very new to linux, i use WEBMIN to control all functions of this
server, and so far all works well

i have implemented the dhcp-server and it works fine, one thing i would like
to do, is to make reservations in the dhcp-server,

we used to use a windows 2000 server edition, for dhcp, and in that, there
was an option to reservate the ip-adress via the mac-adress, when that was
done, we

could designate different options for those reservated clients, like router
address, dns, etc.etc

is that also possible on the red hat via webmin, and if so, how do you do
that?

sincerely
