Flight Simulation Games >> EF2000 versions (Original EF2000, not Typhoon)

The 3DFX enhancements weren't that great, a bit better explosions that's about
it.
I think EF2000 v2.0 was the final version?!? It's the way to go for Windows
systems.

I think you can even download the SuperEF2000 for free off the underdogs site.

TAW was fun, but it has it's own issues. I think most people graduated to
Falcon 4.0 or Flanker after EF2000.

I heard the source code to TAW may be released to some select people
who want to fix it up.

It's amazing that DiD spent so much time on the 3DFX port of EF2000
and it ends up looking almost exactly the same as the software mode
except the textures are more blurry.

4. How to handle multiple opponents in EF2000?

Hi,

I have EF2000 (both the first DOS and the Windows version called
SuperEF2000). I am getting shot down a lot because I have trouble
handling multiple opponents (I mean other hostile aircraft).

1) How do I recognize how many close-formation opponents/targets there
are from a big distance? On the radar, I can usually see them as a
single red spot and they do not become multiple spots until they get
closer.

2) What is the best way to engage with multiple opponents? Launch a
missile on one and then immediately continue with the next one?

3) What is the best way to make use of my wingmen (if available) in
case there are multiple opponents? Should I keep them close to myself
or assign them targets to be engaged right away?

4) After having launched some long-range missiles, should I turn around
(in order to avoid getting hit myself) or should I continue to fly
towards the hostile aircraft?

6. Super EF2000 from The Underdogs

Anyone running this game successfully? I've tired it on two computers, one
is a 233 MMX Windows 98 machine, and I get an application error two seconds
into a mission. Next time I start the game I get no sound or sound options
(using ~ key), even after a system re-boot. This also happens on my 1.7Ghz
under XP and ME.

Thanks for any advice as I'd really like to play this sim. BTW, I've already
asked on the SimHQ Typhoon board.
