sas >> ROC plots - cut-off points

by nuria » Tue, 15 Sep 2009 04:15:54 GMT

Hi,

I know how to plot ROC curves from the classification table that you
get from SAS after proc logistic. How can I get the cut-off points
associated to each combination of Sensitivity and 1-Specificity?

Thanks!

See SAS help documentation on OUTROC data set. You will need to merge
it with the model probabilities to get the actual predictor values.
There's also a ROCPLOT macro on SAS website which allows you to show
the cut-off values on the ROC plot.

There is also a macro that was a poster at the SUGI that was at San Antonio
presented by people from Eli Lilly that is really good for this. See the
proceedings from that SUGI. HTH

2. proc discrim - cut-off points?

I am using PROC DISCRIM to calculate the accuracy of continuos
variables (speed, degree flexibility...) in telling appart cows with
ulcers in their hooves. We checked the hooves of the cows and measured
the predictors the same day.

I ran the code:

Proc DISCRIM;
class ulcer;
var speed;
run;

where ulcer is a dychotomous variable (yes or not).

I saw the output gives you 2*2 tables with specificity and
sensitivity, that it is what I want. However, is there any place in
the output where the cut-off point used for that is specified?

I created a title using

However, the word "Test" doesn't fit in the cell (of the 1st row). The
top part of the letters are cut-off. Is there any way to increase the
height of the 1st row in the Excel worksheet?
Thank you.
