Hi,

I have an excel spreadsheet that I converted into SAS version 8 (via
StatTransfer). The conversion seems to have worked properly -- I can open
the SAS dataset without a problem. However, when I'm programming in SAS
and trying to do simple data manipulations (including proc sort and proc
freq), I get the following error message: "ERROR: Integer divide by zero"

Any idea what's happening & how to fix it?

That error message does not usually have anything to do with division by
zero in a SAS program. You may have any one of a number of problems with
attributes of the dataset imported from Excel, or with your configuration of
SAS. A PROC CONTENTS of the dataset will show formats and informats
associated with column variables. In particular you might try disassociating
formats from character variables using
FORMAT <charVarName>;

When running PROC UNIVARIATE with a BY statement, I get a floating point
zero divide error. There are missing values in the SAS data file that might
be the cause, but I'm not sure.

Running 8.2 in Windows 2000, is there a relatively easy way to overcome
