Embedded Linux >> bootloader internals

Hi,
Can anyone provide the articals/links to the internals of the
bootloaders. I want to understand as what is the role of the bootloader and
how it achieves it internally.
And how bootloaders are used to create the RAMDISK.

Thanks
Uday

You can find the source code (and more) to U-boot at
http://sourceforge.net/projects/u-boot
and the user's manual at
http://www.denx.de/twiki/bin/view/DULG/Manual

Go and study the docs and the sources.

They aren't. Bootloaders can do many things, but creating ramdisks is
definitely NOT in their scope.
