Our database got corrupted so I quickly brought up
another exchange server. My plan was to move each users'
mailbox and rehome the public folders to this new
server. However, a test user created on the second box
can't seem to receive mail. I've looked at the queue on
the first box and found that the messages for the second
box gets queued (queue shows 'Active'), but the message
never gets delivered. After a while, the queue will
show 'connection was dropped by remote host.'

The users on the 2nd box can send to users on the first
box and the internet. I've also verified that I can
telnet to port 25 from the first to the second box and
send mail to the test user. Did I miss something here?

I added a 2nd exchange server in hopes of moving mailboxes 
to free up space.  Everything went smoothly including 
moving the mailbox over.  I can log on using outlook and 
the mailbox is recognized fine.  I see all old emails, 
etc..  but I can't send or receive any email from the new 
server (both from the moved mailbox or a new mailbox I 
created).  Both servers are in the same routing group.  
All exchange services are running and so is SMTP.  There 
are no errors in the event viewer.  All email is just 
piling up in the queue. 

If i look in the queues it does say "ENUMERATE MESSAGES 
FROM THE QUEUE MODE"

What does this mean?

I installed Exchange server 2000, I have valid public IP 
address and valid registered domain, I am able to send 
email to all servers in internet, but I am not able to 
receive any emails from other mail servers like hotmail or 
yahoo or any thing.Can some body help me and send me step 
by step instructions to configure Exchange server for 
internet.

Please help me in issue.

I added a second exchange server yesterday and moved a 
mailbox to test it.  All appeared to go well, until I 
realized 2 things:
1-  Mail is not delivered to the new mailbox from 
anywhere external to the new server (account 1 whose mail 
store resides on the new mailbox will deliver to account 
2, also on the new server)

and 2 (less important, but needs fixed as well)- Once 
moved, OWA quit for the account moved.

Any help is appreciated.  Thanks.
