by anonymous » Thu, 15 Jan 2004 04:54:32 GMT

here is the issue

- W2K/Exch 2K box
- changed ISP's about a couple of weeks ago
- ensure that all MX records and A records are up to date
at ISP for my company's domain
- check domain and mail server for resolve at
www.dnsreports.com and www.network-tools.com
- everything looks good
- have symantec anti-spam protection and GFI Mail
Essentials installed as well
- cisco router with ACL's
- sonicwall VPN concentrator
- i have one user who can not recieve email from at least
8 different domains ( user was able to recieve these
emails before ISP changed )
- I asked IT guy apparently blocked domain to send email
to me and it bounced
- he says no NDR value/message other than ".....delay in
delivering message due to network congestion or server is
offline.
CAN ANYONE HELP WITH THIS ONE. I am totally at a lost here
with this one, thanks.

You probably want to get a NETMON trace from the sending and receiving email
server. This might show you where the delay is...

2. Change "message delayed" time delay

On Exchange 2007, is there a way of changing the time delay between when
a message is sent, and when I get a "message delayed" motification back?
Right now, it appears to be about 18 hours, which is causing
unacceptable problems if there are delivery issues. I need to set it to
something more like 1 hour so I know before the next day that my mail is
having trouble getting out.

Thanks!

4. Delayed e-mail message

Hi

We have a few users who have recently received delayed messages. These
messages were sent to them approx 4 hours ago and they have only just
received them. Also 1 or 2 of the users suddenly got a bulk of e-mails from
the past few months drop into their mailboxes, any explanation as to why this
is occuring??

We are using Exchange 2003 on Windows 2003 R2

6. "Message delivery was delayed": Exchange 2007 Message Tracking

Yesterday I received two "Message delivery was delayed" messages (sending to
Yahoo and Hotmail). I tried searching with Message Tracking but I can't find
any error (for example, no DEFER is logged).

This is my topology:
INTERNET <-> FIREWAY + SMTP SERVER (non exchange) <-> EXCHANGE 2007

Where else may I look? Any ideas?
Thanks a lot.

I have two contacts setup in Exchange to receive copies of emails. It works

Any thoughts?
