transport >> SMTP Properties!

On the SMTP Virtual Server Properties, there is a
Delivery tab>Advanced. There is a entry there for a
Fully Qualified domain name. Do I enter my domain name
or the fully qualified domain name of the ISA Server
Computer. In the POP3 connector properties it asks for
the domain name. I am not sure if this would cause my
problem of not receiving any mail but able to send. Is
the SMTP and POP3 Virtual Servers suppose to be on
separate IP addresses with separate cards.

Trying to find out what all the attributes are for adding a contact in
Active Directory. I need to set all the SMTP attributes and include in the
GAL.

I have these attributes but not sure if this is all of them and what they
need to be set to
'objContact.Put "proxyaddress", CStr(strproxyaddress)
'objContact.Put "showinaddressbook", CStr(strshowinaddressbook)
'objContact.Put "InternetEncoding", CStr(strinternetencoding)
'objContact.Put "TargetAddress", CStr(strtargetaddress)
'objContact.Put "mAPIRecipient", CStr(smtp + ":" + stremail)

4. SMTP relay still open after setting relay properties.

I was getting a lot of badmail entries and found that our exchange server
had the SMTP relay open. I Used the exchange system manager to go to:
Servers; Server1; protocols; SMTP. Then I right click on the default SMTP
server and selected properties. I verified that the only allowed addresses
that can relay to the default SMTP server are from our private network of
192.167.1.0 subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 and the single ip of 127.0.0.1 (
even tried removing both of these and still getting a lot of badmail.) Our
15 users don't send over 100 emails a day so the volume badmail should not
be growing that fast. Any suggestions? I did try to enable basic
authentication on the default virtual SMTP server but when I do that we do
not receive any email.
Any suggestions?

6. SMTP VS Properties Question

This question is about an Exchange 2003 server I have inherited at my
new job. I was looking into recipient filtering and when I looked at
the SMTP Virtual Server properties it showed that the IP address was
set to All Unassigned. Is it safe to assign the local Exchange IP to
the SMTP VS? Are there any other All Unassigned instances that I will
need to change else where on the server? I'm just paranoid that
changing that one particular setting may screw up some other things.
This is the only Exchange server in the domain an there is only one
virtual server.

8. Programmatic way to configure SMTP connector properties

Hello all,

I am specifically looking for configuring Outbound Security properties. We
know how to do it through UI but wondering if there is a command line
tool(MS or 3rd party), or WMI or some other API to set those
properties(including username, password, etc..)

Thanks in advance,
Konda
