Word VBA >> word error msg.: insufficient memory

by aaronep » Tue, 10 Aug 2004 08:35:42 GMT

I have Windows XP, Msft Word XP 2002.

When attempting to save a document, I receive following error msg.:
"Word had insufficient memory. Do I want to save the document
as 'Received Document'?".

My computer has over 500 mb internal memory available according to
ms3winfo.exe.

When it says that "Word has insufficient memory", is it referring to a
separate memory resource for Word? If it is, how do I determine the
size of this resource and adjust it so the error message does not
appear?

All replies welcomed!

Word VBA >> word error msg.: insufficient memory

In earlier versions of Word that error message was a generic indication that
the Save operation had failed, for any reason at all. I'd have expected MS
to have fixed the problem by now, but apparently not. Anyway, the problem is
unlikely to be anything at all to do with memory. More likely, the document
is simply corrupt. If you received the document via email, ask the sender to
put it in a zip file and email you that.

2. word 97 grammar check error / insufficient memory error

Hi, recently encountered the above problems in Word 97. Running WinXP SP2
with more than sufficient memory to run the program and more than enough disk
space to save any work.

The grammar check error appears whenever I go to check the spelling and
grammar, but its affecting all packages in the Office Suite. I'm presented
with the following message when trying to start the checker in Word "There
was an unexpected error in the grammar checker. Word cannot complete the
grammar check". Its also not highlighting any mistakes in grammar and
spelling when I type. Any ideas? The problem has only occurred recently, but
the package has been on the machine for some time.

Again, when I'm trying to save, I'm occasionally presented with an
insufficient memory error. Looking through the task manager, the memory
usage, CPU usage and PF usage have been abnormally high, even when Word is
the only active program running. Again, the problem has only occurred very
recently.

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance

4. error message - word has insufficient memory - Word 2007

I recently started getting this error message when I try to save. I have
plenty of memory, 3 gb. I've tried renaming the normal.dot, but no luck.
I've run the diagnostics, no luck. Same with chkdsk. I did get a pagefile
couldn't be written error to disk4 in a log. I'm wondering if the antivirus
programs are messing it up. I scan every day. This may have happened in
other MS programs, too, but not sure. Computer has been running slower
lately. I defrag regularly and have 100+gb free on the drive.

I think this all started when I changed the memory settings to no page file
temporarily to see if that would speed things up. I changed it back since it
was running out of memory after that. Now I have it at 3000mb or so.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

6. "Word has insufficient memory" error message

Hi,
I am using a macro that perform many editing changes in a document.
This cause Word to display the above error message every once in
while.
Is there a programatcal way of preventing Word from displaying this
message ?
I would not like to use the UndoClear command because it is not
obvious where in the code it should be used, and very often it does
not solve the problem completely.
