Is there a way to select an entire column in an MS Word table and change it
so that its contents are formatted as

$3.50

Values in the rows in this column are like 3.5 or 4.26.

I need it to work in Word 2000 or above.

I have not tried it, but I would think you could export to the table to
Excel, reformat your column, and bring it back.

Right but sometimes they dont have excel as well as word on their machine.
Rare but it can happen. I figured it out by cracking the data source to do
what I wanted before it got to word.

4. Micro-adjustment of Word Table Column Boundaries

Sometimes when trying to join two tables, or when a table gets messed
up, it seems impossible to line up the column boundaries across all
rows because dragging the column boundary with the mouse is some sort
of "snap-to-grid" process. The boundary won't move except in
increments larger than the distance to be "fixed." Solution?

Is there a way to turn off the snap-to-grid effect in moving the
column boundary?

Can one "drag" the column boundary using the left/right arrow keys
rather than the mouse, and thereby obtain finer adjustment? How does
one initiate this process?

6. Word 2002 -- Changing One Table Column Alignment Affects All Columns in Table

In Word 97, when I select the entire column in a multi-column table
and change the paragraph alignment, the change only takes effect in
that column.

In Word 2002 (XP), if the table has 49 rows, there's no problem. But
if the table has more than 49 rows, selecting and changing the
paragraph alignment of ONE column to "left" or to "right" changes the
alignment in ALL columns in the table.

This problem occurs only when the entire column is selected.
Selecting part of the column does not has such problem.

Also, changing the paragraph alignment to "center" does not has such
prolem either.

Is there any fix to this?

8. How to paste a column of text into a column in a Word Table

Hello,

I have a column of text in one Word file
[i.e.,
text1
text2
text3]

and a table in another Word file.

I would like to paste the column of text into the Word table. However, when
i just select the text, copy it and paste it into the table, it all gets
pasted into the top cell of the column of the Word table. Is there a way to
resolve this?

Thank you!
