Hi Christina,
When the dropdown has the focus, press Alt+down arrow to open the list of
items. Then you can use the up and down arrow keys to move through the list,
and Enter to select an item.
It isn't much of a hint, but the down-arrow-and-underline symbol on the
dropdown's button is supposed to remind you of Alt+down arrow, just as the
underlined F in the File menu's name means you can use Alt+F to open it.
By the way, Alt+up arrow will also open the list.
