Is there a way to set up a port that points to a directory so that an Adobe
PDFWriter can use it so I don't have to put in destination and filename
every time?

Try this.

Go to the 'Ports' tab of the PDFWriter properties.
Click on 'Add Port.'
Select 'PDF Port' then click on 'New Port.'
In the browser window, select the folder for saving the
files into, then click 'OK.'
That should do it.

I do not have the option of a 'PDF Port' in the Add ports menu. I am using
the full retail version of Adobe Acrobat 5.0. Do newer versions install this
type of port or can I just download something from Adobe that would give me
this port type option?

1. Printer port question

Hi,

I'm configuring a printer on a printerserver and have this problem:
locating and adding the printer is no issue, and setting the options
isn't either. The problem is however, that when I select the printer its
status is 'Access denied, unable to connect'. When looking at the ports,
the printerserver is not on the list, only LPT, COM and a local FAX
port. Is this the reason for the denied access, and if so, how do I
solve it?

Thanks,
