print_fax >> Printing in reverse or as a mirror image

by Paul » Sat, 13 Sep 2003 04:30:56 GMT

I'm working with Windows XP and need to print a Word
image (text) in reverse or as a mirror image to enable a
T-shirt transfer. I have an HP Deskjet 800 printer. Can
anyone tell me what I need to do to be able to print in
reverse?

Thanks!

Depends on the printer drivers.... some have a setting for t-shirt paper,
which will automatically 'flip' the image. If not, you can use a graphics
program to do this and then print the already flipped image.

If it's dark t-shirt transfer paper you're printing onto then the image
doesn't have to be flipped, since it peels off the backing paper and is put
on the t-shirt the correct way round, then ironed on, unlike light t-shirt
paper, which is turned over then ironed.

6. Printer spool mirrors bitmap image printing CD case inserts

I don't know where to take this problem. Printer news groups are fruitless.

I first ran into this in 2001 with an IBM Laser printer and Windows
2000. This time it's a Brother Laser printer and Windows XP.

No, I have not printed and CD labels in between 2001 and now. (Using
NERO 6).

Printers always have extra memory added and print in native mode (Not
PostScript.)

Normally I always use the print spool. When I print CD Case inserts,
the image always gets a mirror image AND flipped vertical. I also see
it when I print a FAX. I assume it's related to it being a bitmap image.

If I change printer driver to "Print direct to printer" the output is
correct. To date, prayer and witch doctor has failed to resolve. I
think that proves it is a Windows issue.

Where is the best place to discuss this and get ideas how to troubleshoot?

8. Fax Console prints mirror images?

I have an HP L7780 Officejet all-in-one printer and I am running XP
Professional SP3.

I have Microsoft Fax Console (version 5.1) set to receive faxes
automatically, and to print them on receipt. However, all faxes are being
printed as mirror images.

The faxes appear correctly when viewed as onscreen images, and will print
correctly from Fax Console if I manually print them after their arrival. It
is just the automatic printing on receipt of faxes that is the problem.

All other print jobs are printed correctly.

Does anyone know how I can get Fax Console to print faxes correctly at the
time thay are received?

Thanks.
